Tybee Ocean Rescue operates under the command of the Tybee Island Fire Department.  We have a seasonal staff of 35 lifeguards, 6 officers, and 1 dispatcher.  We operate 3 Kawasaki Mules, 2 Jet Ski’s, 10 lifeguards towers, and a pier watch.  We respond to all public safety emergencies along the beach and in the bordering parking lots.  All of our staff are trained to a minimum of First Responder and several are Emergency Medical Technicians.  We have an excellent working relationship with The United States Coast Guard Station Tybee, Medstar One, and with The Tybee Police Department.
